I'm sure, you would be using or looking for any kind of lock folder utility to prevent access to your private [;)] data folders! Web is overburdened with hell such of softwares, but my only concern was, If the software gets corrupted [by any reason], Is it possible to recover the locked folders, I found my answer in
NO!!. The reason is, Whenever any software locks the folders, it either encrypt the content or while accessing replace the access event with its own scripts [generally the password] and the best one hides its actual location and re-directs somewhere else.
All possibilities leads to failure in recovering the folder in case folder lock software which only has those details of lock, gets corrupted.

While exploring on net, I found one software for Folder Locking, which is simple and easy to use.
Download Folder LockI have already tested the software on my system with all possibilities. Even if the software gets corrupted or gets un-installed by mistake, we can easily recover all locked folders by a simple Windows trick. Even the folder can be locked through that trick (this software also uses the same trick to lock folders) but its more easy for you to use the software, instead of the trick process.
Advantages of the software are,
1. Easy to use, and locks the access to the folder.
2. Provides an interface to manage all locked folders as a single list, protected by a global password.
and the Disadvantages,
1. Folder is locked to access, but not hidden. it is visible to anyone.
2. Even if folder is locked, it can be deleted by anyone, as visible.
Both the disadvantages can be overcome by one way, By Hiding the folder (but Its optional, not mandatory). If the folder will not be visible then difficult for anyone to delete it. It can be done by the following process,
Step 1:
Open My Computer -> Tools (button on top toolbar) -> Folder Options -> View (one tab in top bar) -> Under Advanced Settings, look for Hidden Files and Folders option -> Select Do not show hidden files and folders -> press OK
Step 2:
Now whichever folder (locked or un-locked) you want to hide, follow the process,
Right click on folder (whichever wish to be hidden) -> Properties -> General (it opens in this tab only) -> Under Attributes category -> check Hidden option -> press OK
thats it, the folder will not be visible, If you again wish to see the folder,
a) Follow the same step1, instead of selecting Do not show hidden files and folders, this time select Show hidden files and folders.
b) If you want to remove the folder from Hidden option of step1, just follow the same Step2, this time uncheck the Hidden option.
